I hear, “Beta, aap bahut acha kaam kar rhe ho. Hum sab ka naam aise hi roshan karte rehna.”

(You are doing a great service, keep working like this and make us even more proud).

“Such appreciation, from elders, means a lot to me. They come up to me and bless me. Unacademy has given me and my family a lot more than I had ever expected from my life.”

Khushboo Singh Rajput, Educator, Unacademy

Champaran’s Pride

“I come from a small village. The land from where Gandhi-ji started his Satyagraha - Champaran (Bihar). Every year, we visit our ancestral place. Before, we used to prepare ourselves as relatives used to pressurise my parents to get me married quickly. And that meant at the age of 12! But my parents refused to listen to them — I am blessed to have such parents. I was the first girl from my village to graduate.”

Khushboo Singh Rajput is a typical Army child. She has travelled around the country, studied in Kendriya Vidyalayas, loves people and is a foodie. A graduate from DAV College in Jalandhar, Khushboo has also completed her PG Diploma from Swami Vivekanand Subharti University. She began teaching as an educator on Unacademy last year.

Becoming An Educator

Ed-tech is huge right now, she says. “It’s the 21st century and preparation without technology just isn’t possible. Smart preparation matters.” Khushboo enjoys courses by Arpita Prakash, Dhananjay Vashistha, Mudit Gupta and Aayush Sanghi on Unacademy.

“As a learner, I was looking for courses on CSAT Paper 2 on Unacademy and couldn’t find one. I decided to take this opportunity to teach and make people aware that CSAT Paper 2 is also very important to clear prelims.
This is how I started my journey on Unacademy.”

“Unacademy is a great platform which is providing free guidance, knowledge, information to students, and, of course, the forever learners.”

Today, her father, who serves in the Army as a senior JCO, is proud of her being an Educator. Here he is celebrating his birthday:

Transforming Lives

People have changed in East Champaran. They are now more serious and concerned about their daughters’ education.

“Now, you will find many girls who have graduated and are working as well. Parents, too, are now looking for well-educated girls for their sons, even if their own sons are not that educated! On the other hand, I see 15 year olds talking about their marriage rather studies or career. I think their thought process needs to change…a lot more remains to be done.”

Favourite Book

The Alchemist

Favourite Actor/ Actress

Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Allu Arjun

Favourite city?

Hyderabad is my favourite city. I did part of my schooling (Classes IX, X & XI) at Kendriya Vidyalaya Trimulgherry, Secunderabad and got to learn a lot from friends, teachers and people there. I love the people and the food too!

Inspired by Dr A.P.J Kalam, Khushboo enjoys inculcating imaginative and creative thoughts in kids. “A teacher can mould a child’s thought process and bring a change in society. This is why I love teaching.”
